British Sign Language Interpreters

'Performance Interpreting' will be working with The Brighton & Hove LGBT Community Safety Forum and its initiative Accessibility Matters to deliver British Sign Language (BSL) for this years Pride.

Performance Interpreting provides British Sign Language Interpreters to music and entertainment venues across the UK.

They deliver quality access to Deaf people, enriching and enabling the deaf community to share experiences in wider society.

Performance Interpreters are highly skilled professionals with a wealth of experience and qualifications in both Interpreting and Performing Arts. They promote equality for deaf people through the provision of access in a variety of domains including Music Venues, Festivals, Concerts, Live Gigs, Opera, Comedy, Dance, Poetry, Parades, Public Events, Fringe, Ceremonies, Celebrations, the Arts and much more.

Performance Interpreting uses NRCPD (National Registers of Communication Professionals working with Deaf and Deafblind people). This means that every Interpreter provided by them is in receipt of a current enhanced Disclosure and Barring System (DBS) check, Public Indemnity Insurance and is subject to the NRCPD code of practice.

Performance Interpreting is creative, reflective and dynamic. Liberating the audience to feel completely in the moment, capturing the very essence of the experience. A true reflection of music and language expressed with soul, passion and understanding. An Artist’s gift is to entertain us with their talent, to stimulate our senses.

Performance Interpreting allows Deaf Sign Language Users to come together with family and friends to share in the magic.

The Brighton and Hove LGBT Community Safety Forum (LGBT CSF) works in partnership with Brighton Pride to facilitate all aspects of accessibility at Brighton Pride on Saturday 4th August 2018.

This will include the Access Tent and general access issues to Preston Park for the Deaf, elderly, disabled community.

A programme of British Sign Language interpreted performances will be available throughout the park on the day. Visit for more information.
