Parking Arrangements

Viewing Platform / Parade Participants

Blue Badge holders will be allowed to park at the Dukes mound end of Madeira Drive but will have to make their own way to the viewing area by the Sea Life centre, or to the Safe Space assembly point nearby, where there will also be accessible toilets. They should look out for banners and flags bearing the LGBT Community Safety Forum and Accessibility Matters logos.

You must arrive by 9.45 AM

If you wish to be in the Parade (whether walking, in your own mobility scooter or wheelchair, or using the LGBT CSF golf carts)

To register for the Accessibility Matters Pride Access Plan please click the Icon below.

Parade participants MUST sign in by 9.45 AM

For those not taking part in the Parade (NB they are welcome to register to join us in the Safe Space at the head of the parade) it will be their responsibility to make their own way to the Park (or the car park at Prestamex) from the viewing area after the Parade has passed.

Those who choose to use the car park at the Prestamex can get an accessible taxi to the viewing area prior to the parade and so MUST be at the car park no later than 10:00am. They will have to get a return taxi from the viewing area to Prestamex after the parade has passed. Ordering and paying for taxis will be the users’ responsibility, not that of Pride or the LGBT CSF.

NB: roads will be gridlocked during and for some time after the parade, and Preston Road itself will be closed northbound so access by car/van to the Car Park is unlikely to be possible between 10.00am and 3.30pm.

A golf cart shuttle will travel throughout the day between the Car Park and the Access Tent, to the north of the park. This has concrete pathways to the rest of the park.

Please note that there will be facilities to charge motorised scooters and motorised wheelchairs at the Access Tent.

If you require a mobility scooter for the day please contact Brighton Shopmobility on 01273 323239.

In order to make your experience as enjoyable as possible we request you register in advance to use the accessible car park facilities (see below)

Getting back to your car at the Car Park

Your car will be located close to the Park and you can use a shuttle from the Access Tent to return to your car at any time. There will be a private area for those who need it in the Access Tent.

Details of the Car Park location will be sent with Access Application packs.

Getting back to your car at Duke’s Mound

This will be your own responsibility. You can get the golf cart shuttle to the Natwest Building and order an accessible taxi from there to Dukes Mound.

Shuttle Service

A “golf cart” shuttle service will be in place to transport visitors with mobility issues arriving on foot from the main entrance of the Park to the Access Tent, and back, as needed. The route to the Access Tent will be clearly signposted for those arriving by wheelchair and/or mobility scooter. Parade participants will enter the park by the quickest route to the Access Tent.

Further information on this service will be available in May 2017
